Parent Involvement

The Parent Teacher Organization of Schechter Westchester is deeply committed to fostering a strong and supportive kehilah (community) and to providing opportunities for parents, teachers, and administrators to partner in the education of our students and the enhancement of our school. The PTO plans and sponsors a wide array of events and programs each year. In addition to these, we also work closely with all the various arms of the school to provide support for many of their events throughout the year.

However, the true essence of the PTO is not just the events, but rather the people and relationships. PTO volunteer opportunities help individuals to come together, develop connections with one another, and strengthen their ties to the greater community.

We hope you will feel free to share your ideas and suggestions about anything PTO related. You can e-mail us and, in addition, this year we will be holding two open PTO meetings for parents to voice their opinions and learn more about PTO business. We look forward to working with all of you to make the coming year a great success for the entire Schechter Westchester community!

These words by Rabbi Yishmael, which reflect the essence of our mission, are found in Pirkei Avot. They advise us to lead lives filled with learning, teaching, preservation of our heritage, and social action.
